Your Responsibilities
- Implementation of the objectives as set out in the development agreement to be concluded
- Independent research and publication activities in the field of industrial ecology
- Collaboration with established research groups at various national and international research institutions and universities, as well as with practice partners
- Participation in the application for third-party funds
- Academic responsibility for the field of industrial ecology in research and teaching
- Independent teaching of courses as well as participation in teaching and examination duties of the department
- Academic and organizational support of students at the Department of Environmental Systems Sciences
- Participation in organizational and administrative tasks as well as evaluation measures
Your Profile
- Completed doctoral or PhD degree in a relevant field, such as industrial ecology or environmental system sciences
- Excellent academic qualifications in research and teaching (in relation to academic age and career interruptions due to caregiving responsibilities)
- Several years of experience as a postdoc or in a comparable position
- Competence in university didactics, including the use of digital media
- Solid knowledge of climate-related aspects of bio-based industrial ecosystems
- Knowledge of quantitative research methods, e.g., multi-regional input-output analysis, material flow analysis, econometrics (please specify in your application)
- Demonstrated ability to use programming languages for data analysis and modeling (e.g., Python, Matlab, R)
- Experience in acquiring competitive third-party funded research projects (e.g., FWF, OeNB, Horizon Europe)
- Experience in collaboration with biomass-producing and/or biomass-processing industries
- International experience or demonstrable networking within the international research community
- Experience in supervising/co-supervising theses
- Good command of English and German
- Independent and autonomous working style
- Ability to work in interdisciplinary teams
