Robert Bosch Krankenhaus

The Robert Bosch Hospital (Robert-Bosch-Krankenhaus), the Foundation's hospital in Stuttgart, was established by a private initiative of the company's founder, Robert Bosch, in 1936. The owner of the present-day hospital, which opened in 1973 and was subsequently modernized several times, is Robert-Bosch-Krankenhaus GmbH, whose sole partner is the Robert Bosch Stiftung GmbH. The Foundation and the management committees of the hospital together define the medical, therapeutic, and nursing policies of the hospital. The Foundation facilitates medical research and finances innovative investments that are not covered by funding from other sources. The Robert Bosch Stiftung guarantees the observance and implementation of the founder's quality criteria in the best interests of the patients of the hospital that bears Robert Bosch's name.

Klinik Schillerhöhe in Gerlingen has been a part of the hospital, with more than 1,000 beds, since 2006. About 3000 employees are responsible for providing individual care for the hospital’s patients. The Robert Bosch Hospital has also been one of the University of Tübingen’s academic teaching hospitals since 1978. The hospital has over 17 operating rooms, a clinic for geriatric rehabilitation, a pharmacy, an interdisciplinary educational center for vocational, advanced, and professional training, as well as a state-of-the-art scientific library. The 17 medical departments are closely intertwined and form centers that span fields and locations, including certified centers for various forms of cancer, for geriatric traumatology, as well as the interdisciplinary emergency center. In addition, the Robert Bosch Hospital has a psychosomatic consulting and liaison service, a palliative care unit, and beds for stem cell transplants in highly sterile hospital rooms. Research institutes for clinical pharmacology and medical history are affiliated with the hospital.
