Living and working in Leiden and The Hague

We have locations in both Leiden and The Hague. Both are vibrant cities with numerous shopping and cultural offerings where history is tangible everywhere you go. Leiden and The Hague are centrally located and near other major cities, close to Schiphol Airport and in the vicinity of beaches and dunes. They are wonderful places to live and work.

Diversity and inclusion

In 2014, we were the first university in the Netherlands to appoint a Diversity Officer. We have since then operated an active diversity policy for a number of years, focused on appointing more women in senior scientific positions. The result is something we are proud of! Leiden University has the highest percentage of female professors of all the Dutch Universities: 29%.
