We are seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher with expertise in bioinformatics and computational analysis to join the laboratory of Mucosal Immunology led by Prof. Gianluca Matteoli at the Translational Research Center for Gastrointestinal Disorders (TARGID), Department of Chronic Diseases, Metabolism, KU Leuven, Belgium. This position involves working on the transcriptomic landscape of intestinal inflammation and tissue damage with clear implications for intestinal diseases such as inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD). You will work closely with our clinical and translational teams to identify new therapeutic targets that can be implemented directly in clinical settings.
The candidate will be part of a research program that integrates experimental models, patient material, and cutting-edge technologies (e.g., single-cell/nuclei and spatial transcriptomics) to understand how intestinal homeostasis is maintained and how breakdowns in these processes lead to IBD. The research group investigates the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying intestinal homeostasis and how its disruption contributes to IBD.
