The Department of Health Sciences and Technology (www.hest.ethz.ch) at ETH Zurich invites applications for the above-mentioned position at the Institute of Food, Nutrition and Health (www.ifnh.ethz.ch).
The new professor is expected to advance nutrition-centered research on the molecular and cellular basis of how diet, nutrients, and dietary patterns influence human health and disease across the lifespan, including healthy aging. The successful candidate will develop an innovative and mechanistic research program in nutrition biology with translational relevance, leveraging ETH Zurich’s interdisciplinary environment and state-of-the-art analytical and technological capabilities. Research directions may include the molecular basis of diet-driven metabolic phenotypes, precision/personalized nutrition, nutrition–inflammation interfaces, and metabolism- and nutrition-based strategies supporting prevention and health maintenance.
The candidate must have an outstanding research background and international standing in nutrition biology or related fields. Demonstrated strength in building collaborations, including with clinical and/or population partners where relevant, is expected. Successful candidates are expected to establish and lead a competitive research team within the interactive environment at ETH Zurich and to contribute to teaching in the Food Science and Nutrition program. In general, at ETH Zurich undergraduate level courses are taught in German or English and graduate level courses are taught in English.
