The Department of Architecture and Civil Engineering tackles contemporary and emerging challenges for the built and natural environment, ranging from resource utilisation, pollution and climate change to digitalisation and inequality. We combine expertise in architecture, civil engineering and related disciplines to build a better world.
Sound and vibration are part of our daily lives. The Division of Applied Acoustics conducts research in audio and acoustics and aims to contribute to sustainable built environments and sustainable infrastructure, as well as to support European industry in the development of products and services with appropriate sound and vibration properties.
The position is part of collaboration project with Reality Labs, which is a US-based research unit of Meta Platforms, Inc., the owner of Facebook and WhatsApp. The collaboration aims at creating and evaluating signal processing methods for noise suppression in and enhancement of microphone array signals. Please note that we have also another opening for a doctoral student position: Doctoral student in spatial audio signal processing.
