The University of Luxembourg (UL) invites applications for two postdoc positions (m/f) to work on the project ‘Cognitive Aging: From Educational Opportunities to Individual Risk Profiles’ funded by the European Research Council (2019-2023).
Postdoc in Epidemiology, Population Health or related fields (m/f)
Cognitive impairment and dementia have dramatic individual and social consequences, and create high economic costs for societies. At the moment, no large-scale low-cost risk scores are available that can reliably predict cognitive evolution on an individual level. The project will quantify the ability of singular and clustered individual characteristics, such as behavioural profiles, to predict cognitive aging and dementia diagnosis. Further, with novel study designs, the project aims to contribute to a better understanding of the benefits and limitations of lifestyle interventions to delay cognitive aging and dementia. The project will apply recently developed causal inference frameworks in observational studies. Part of the project will also include the application of supervised machine learning approaches on different large-scale international aging surveys with individual-level longitudinal data.
Gender policy: UL is an equal opportunity employer.
