Who are we?

Télécom Paris, a school of the IMT (Institut Mines-Télécom) and a founding member of the Institut Polytechnique de Paris, is one of the top 5 French general engineering schools.

The guiding mission of Télécom Paris is to train, imagine and undertake to design digital models, technologies and solutions for a society and economy that respect people and their environment.

We are looking for a teacher-researcher in cybersecurity. The post is to be filled in the IT and Networks department (INFRES).

Cybersecurity has become crucial in the digital age, where cyberattacks are becoming increasingly frequent and sophisticated. Businesses, governments and individuals are all vulnerable to threats such as hacking, phishing, ransomware and data breaches. Protecting information systems is now essential to prevent financial loss, damage to reputation and compromised privacy. Moreover, our growing dependence on connected technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT) or critical infrastructures amplifies the risks, and the need for appropriate solutions.

Given the intense activity around this theme over the last few years and its foreseeable growth in the future, the Cryptography and Cybersecurity (C2) team in the Computer Science and Networks (INFRES) department needs to be strengthened by the recruitment of an assistant/associate professor in cybersecurity, capable of working in this field with most of Telecom Paris' teams, such as Autonomous Critical Embedded Systems (ACES), Networks, Mobility and Services (RMS) at INFRES departement, Secure and Safe Hardware (SSH) at COMELEC department, and even the Economic and Social Sciences (SES) department, as well as with other teams at the Institut Polytechnique de Paris, École Polytechnique and Télécom SudParis.

From a research point of view, the team aims to develop skills in various areas of cybersecurity, including (i) the design of robust security mechanisms for future wireless networks (6G, IIoT, ITS-G5, etc.) to protect communications throughout the chain, from user terminals to remote servers, (ii) the creation of innovative solutions tailored to the security of virtualized architectures and cloud infrastructures, and (iii) the development of advanced detection mechanisms and effective automatic responses to minimize the impact of cyber-attacks.

As far as teaching is concerned, Telecom Paris has very great needs in cybersecurity, whether to give courses or to manage teaching units. This is an area that is in high demand among our students, both in our engineering courses (SR2I on Network and IT Infrastructure Security and ACCQ on algebra applied to cryptography) and in our Specialized Masters (ARC for Architecture, Network and Cybersecurity, CYBER2 for Cybersecurity and Cyberdefence and ECRSI for Expert Cybersecurity of Networks and Information Systems). The assistant/associate professor recruited will strengthen the school's ability to coordinate, design and implement courses on the security of IT networks and systems, for example in the cloud, radio communications and vehicular networks. It is also expected that the recruited assistant/associate professor will be able to take part in the general computer science courses taught in the first year.

Your main tasks will be to:

- Participate in the design and implementation of teaching in the field of cybersecurity.
- Participate in innovative cybersecurity research projects.
- Participate in and contribute to the scientific activities of the host Group.
- Participating in the development of partnerships, collaborations and contractual relations in the field of cybersecurity.
