Noroff University College is currently seeking an Assistant (lecturer) or Associate Professor (senior lecturer) in Cyber Security for our Bachelor program.

Noroff University College is currently seeking an Assistant (lecturer) or Associate Professor (senior lecturer) to strengthen our Bachelor in Cyber Security program based in Kristiansand, Norway. We invite applications from all suitable candidates whose academic qualifications and experience meet the criteria for these roles. Both academic qualifications and relevant experience will be considered during the selection process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teaching, delivering and/or supporting specialised cyber security courses for second- and third-year students.
  • Managing and delivering specialist and generalist courses.
  • Supervising undergraduate bachelor's degree projects in cyber security.
  • Undertaking subject-specific research.

Requirements:

  • Fluent in English.
  • A Bachelor level undergraduate qualification in Computer Science, Cyber Security, or a directly related field.
  • A Masters level postgraduate qualification in Computer Science, Cyber Security, or a related field.
  • Solid understanding of foundational computer science concepts (Programming, Computer and Systems architecture, Operating Systems, Databases, TCP/IP networking, and Internet technologies).
  • Comfortable in teaching and supporting technical Cybersecurity courses (Penetration Testing, Operating Systems, Secure Networking, Computer Network Attack, Computer Network Defence, Vulnerabilities and Exploitation, Cybercrime and Conflict in Cyberspace).
  • Experience with Linux platforms, open-source tools and applications.
  • An evidenced ability to teach within a university context or experience in facilitating/developing industry training.

Desirable:

  • A PhD or significant progress towards a PhD in an appropriately aligned discipline, or comparable industry experience.
  • Proficient in Norwegian or another Scandinavian language.
  • Experience with web frameworks and Internet services such as email, web, and database servers.
  • Experience implementing/securing/working with Microsoft Windows Endpoint/Active Directory security and/or Windows Security Internals.
  • Formal pedagogical qualifications would be advantageous, although development is offered as part of the appointment.
