In the Human Movement Biomechanics group, we aim to personalize and optimize rehabilitation and training by identifying movement-related biomarkers that help in the stratification of patients or athletes and optimization of treatment and training.

Responsibilities

  • You provide support to PhD students in setting up measurement protocols in 3D motion capture and/or medical imaging techniques. You also assist with training new researchers within the research group.
  • You provide data processing and data analysis support.
  • You provide support for writing and setting up research projects within the human movement biomechanics research group.
  • You supervise master students in writing their master thesis within the biomechanics research domain.
  • You are responsible for coordinating the teaching tasks within the human movement biomechanics research group.
  • You assist in setting up a professional structure of the research labs within the Department of Movement Sciences.
  • You provide administrative and technical support for activities within the research group, the Department of Movement Sciences and the Faculty of Movement and Rehabilitation Sciences (for example, representation in Departmental Council).

Profile

  • You have a PhD in biomedical sciences and a strong affinity with movement and rehabilitation sciences.
  • You have experience in the use of 3D movement registration, measuring equipment for biomechanical analysis of movement.
  • You have experience with image-based modeling using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and/or echography.
  • You have experience in analyzing and interpreting biomechanical data.
  • You have educational experience with students Movement/Sport Sciences or Rehabilitation Sciences.
  • You have strong communication skills both orally and written, you have organizational skills and you can coordinate well.
  • You find working together within an (international) team of researchers an attractive challenge.
  • You are fluently in English, both orally and written, knowledge of Dutch is an advantage.
  • You have good educational skills
  • You have a strong sense of responsibility.

Offer

We offer a part-time employment of a fixed term for 1 year as a post-doctoral researcher which can be extended after a positive one year evaluation.
